The University of Alabama is proud to be a leader in graduate student mentorship through our campus-wide initiative, Crimson Odyssey. This initiative aims to enhance the personal and professional success of all graduate students by fostering a culture of mentorship built on competencies that extend across disciplines. Crimson Odyssey provides comprehensive training for Graduate Faculty to become certified Navigators—mentors who have undergone specialized training led by the Odyssey Fellows. These Navigators are committed to excelling as mentors and supporting graduate students in meaningful ways. Beginning September 8th and running through November 3rd, we will offer training sessions every Monday from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm for those interested in becoming Navigators. To achieve certification, faculty must complete training in the five Crimson Odyssey Core Competencies:
