Approaching Work-Life Integration

The University of Alabama is proud to be a leader in graduate student mentorship through our campus-wide initiative, Crimson Odyssey. This initiative aims to enhance the personal and professional success of all graduate students by fostering a culture of mentorship built on competencies that extend across disciplines.

Crimson Odyssey provides comprehensive training for graduate students to become certified Pathfinders—mentees who have undergone specialized training led by the Odyssey Fellows. These Pathfinders are committed to excelling as graduate students and mentees.

Beginning January 27th and running through March 31st, we will offer training sessions every Monday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm for those students interested in becoming Pathfinders. To achieve certification, students must complete training in the five Crimson Odyssey Core Competencies:
 

• Maintaining Effective Communication
• Aligning Expectations 
• Approaching Work-Life Integration
• Building Research Self-Efficacy
• Achieving Independence
