A Graduate Student Panel Discussion
Collaborating with others in research labs or group projects can be incredibly rewarding—but it can also bring unexpected challenges when communication breaks down or tensions arise.
Join us for a graduate student panel discussion on Conflict Resolution and Difficult Conversations in the Lab or Group Projects, featuring graduate students from diverse academic backgrounds who will share their real experiences, insights, and strategies for navigating conflict in academic and research settings.
This conversation will be moderated by professionals from the UA Counseling Center, who will provide expert guidance, facilitate discussion, and offer practical tools for addressing challenging interpersonal dynamics with confidence and care.
Food will be provided, so come ready to listen, learn, and connect in a supportive environment!
Discussion Topics Will Include:
Navigating miscommunication and mismatched expectations
Managing tension in hierarchical lab or advisor-student relationships
Collaborating across disciplines and work styles
Strategies for clear, respectful, and assertive communication
Promoting team harmony and mutual respect
Who Should Attend: Graduate students working in labs, on group projects, or in any collaborative academic setting who want to strengthen their conflict resolution and communication skills.
Presented By: UA Graduate School, in partnership with the UA Counseling Center
