The Tide Together Graduate Mentor Program is a dynamic academic support initiative designed to empower traditionally underrepresented graduate students at The University of Alabama. Through a collaborative team-mentoring model, the program connects students with both faculty mentors and peer graduate mentors to foster personal growth, academic excellence, and career development.
As a peer mentor, you will support students from diverse backgrounds and experiences, such as first-generation college students, individuals with disabilities, those from economically disadvantaged communities, and others who have encountered significant life challenges. Tide Together recognizes the importance of these varied perspectives and strives to cultivate an inclusive, affirming environment where students can thrive throughout their graduate journey and beyond.
Peer mentors who fulfill these expectations will receive a $200 compensation at the conclusion of the program. By serving as a peer mentor, you help build a strong, supportive network that promotes the academic and personal success of fellow graduate students.
