The Tide Together Graduate Mentor Program is a dynamic academic support initiative designed to empower traditionally underrepresented graduate students at The University of Alabama. Through a collaborative team-mentoring model, the program connects students with both faculty mentors and peer graduate mentors to foster personal growth, academic excellence, and career development.
Participants in the program often come from diverse backgrounds and experiences—such as being first-generation college students, individuals with disabilities, those from economically disadvantaged communities, or students who have faced other challenging life circumstances. Tide Together recognizes these challenges and aims to create an inclusive, nurturing environment that supports student success throughout the graduate journey and into professional life.
Tide Together helps build a strong, supportive network for graduate student success.
